BEHIND THE DESIGN WITH LANDO

For QUADRANT, our ever-growing clothing line is important to us in order to fuel our creative juices into fashion pieces. We pride ourselves on our bespoke collections created by our in-house team consisting of designers, product developers and merchandising professionals. Together with the rest of the team and Lando, we work in harmony to put these visions to life. From the first ideas of new concept pieces, the creative direction of our photoshoots and campaigns to seeing our incredible community wearing our collections, we are constantly inspired.  

Working closely with Lando, we are able to create pieces that we all love to wear. “Clean chrome zips with no overlap material” to “thick stretchy foldable beanies and good quality wool,” Lando’s feedback and ideas help for strategic and well-thought through decisions as we prepare for upcoming collections. 

Insights from his personal opinion, our design meetings leave us overflowing with ideas. For instance, in creating staple leisure pieces, “having more print on a hoodie feels like a travelling outfit.” Our designs can be worn day to night, traveling around the world to going out; “a crew neck I'd wear to go out for dinner,” Lando also states “I really like quarter zips, I can wear these out, with smart jeans.” 

The new year of QUADRANT apparel is well underway, from the new installment of our staple ORIGINALS V2 collection and our hugely successful Club Athletic drop with new design pieces selling out within 30 minutes. Hear what Lando’s design thoughts are on the newest collection, “I really like stitching embossed on clothing pieces which can go with anything, which is why I love the quarter zip. I usually go for clean and smart pieces. My favourite way to wear quarter zips is with no tee underneath and then have some cool necklaces poking out.” As seen in his Miami paddock walk adorning his new QUADRANT necklace. He also mentions “I love long sleeve tees, they are definitely one of my favourite pieces that we do.”   

We recently sat down with Lando to hear his thoughts on future collection designs, covering knitwear to different prints and logo designs. Mentioning the importance of authenticity and practicality in the design while creating a unique and distinct image. “I like modern but I also like old-school designs which I feel like can be used on many different apparel pieces .” Also learning what Lando is not as much a fan of “I personally don’t like straight up red hoodies but that’s just me.”
